Chanel Mobile Art is the first travelling museum which will travel the world for the next two years.
The exhibition of Chanel Mobile Art took off in Hong Kong and was housed in a futuristic art pavilion, designed by architect Zaha Hadid, commissioned by Karl Lagerfeld. The interesting thing is that the enormous diagram was made to be a travelling museum containing Chanel’s exhibition.
Lagerfeld, who last year held a review on the China Wall, violates all rules of time and space, announcing he is extremely happy that in this occasion he managed to get rid of the tradition according to which people travel in order to visit museums and that in this situation the museum is the museum the one that travels in order to be visited.
Chanel’s Spaceship Travelling Museum. The interior of this architectonic work contains 20 exhibitions by prominent international artists who found inspiration in Chanel’s icon purse.
An audio visual experience begins with a mosaic floor with enormous stones, under a cloud of crystal prisms, made by Italian and Taiwanese artists Loris Cecchini and Michael Lim. A few meters ahead lies a nude photograph, the person in the picture wears a Chanel necklace. At the exit, the visitors can make a wish near the Wish Tree made by Yoko Ono.
The exhibition will move to Tokio in April. After that it will move to New York, London, Moscow and Paris.
